This coat is called “Highland Magic”, inspired by Minerva McGonagall, the beloved Scottish professor of Transfiguration of Harry Potter tales. This long hooded sweater coat is a beautiful blend of forest and emerald greens, navy, and black with garnet red stitching. There are three different versions of the Black Watch tartan, a cable knit pattern and ribbed knits. This coat consists of cottons, fine wools, and wool blends as well as a touch of cashmere. Bodice of coat is of black boiled wool, and the coat buttons up the front with custom kaleidoscope buttons of polymer clay. Long sleeves have thumbholes. Front of skirt has a triangular pocket made of strips of the different fabrics. Hood has an extra-long tail which can be wrapped around the neck like a scarf. The skirt is bordered with two wide bands and is a bit on the heavy, but warm and cozy side, and not for those with wool allergies. Model is 5’9″, and the coat is calf length.
This will fit a medium to large sized woman, and here are the measurements. Model is 5’9″ and a medium.
Bust: 38″ to 40″ stretched
Waist: 36″ – 38″
Sleeve length: 25″
Length of bodice: 17″
Length of skirt from below waistband: 30″
All sweaters have been prewashed in my own organic soap mixture and hot water, then dried in a hot dryer for maximum shrinkage, and can safely be machine laundered on cold delicate wash. A warm or cool gentle air setting in a dryer is safe or lay flat, NEVER hang to dry. I recommend storing flat, not hanging. Dry cleaning is not recommended due to the polymer clay buttons.
